Ripple Effects…

Chris Grosso Newport Academy

Beside myself right now in humility and gratitude. I share the following email I just received from an 18 year old girl in no way as ego inflation, but rather, to let you know you truly never know what affect you’re having on others, or how far those ripple effects may go. Just another reason to do your best to be kind, lend a helping hand whenever possible, and be there for others in need. We’re all capable of this regardless of whether it’s teaching a workshop or just being a decent human being in everyday life 🙂

“Hello, I’m not sure if you remember me but I met you at Newport Academy this past January. I have colorful hair and piercings. I remember the first workshop that you came for was when I first got to Newport and I asked you if people told you that you couldn’t achieve your dreams. I don’t remember exactly what your response was but I remember I felt so empowered and even though I was in tears it was the happiest I felt in a long time. I felt like I was worth something. I counted down the days for every other Wednesday. The first day I met you was the day I chose recovery and your words gave me the motivation to keep going even when I didn’t want to. Seeing the dragonfly on the cover of your book reinforced my belief that better times were coming. It meant the world to me. “Dead Set on Living” has changed my life so much. I carry it with me.

You also wrote “we all walk this path together” in the front of my book and if I’m at work or someplace where I can’t pull it out I use that phrase as a mantra and I feel so empowered. You really make me feel like I am not alone and that I can really accomplish my dreams. I would like to thank you for being someone I can look up to. Because of your support (in workshops and in your books) I am working towards my dreams. I am currently enrolled in Community College of Philadelphia. I hope one day to write a book and do workshops and public speaking stuff.

A few hours ago I was having family issues. I was on the train on the way to pick up. To relapse. Your book and my journal were in my bag. I started writing and I read “we all walk this path together” and I looked at the dragonfly. I still wasn’t feeling that great but I googled “Chris Grosso” and saw your recent(ish) recovery 2.0 interview. It inspired me to stay clean. I was able to make the decision to call a friend to pick me up from the train instead of going to buy drugs. I am so grateful for everything you do. You have been the turning point in my recovery and have given me the confidence to do what’s best for me. Thank you so much for everything you do to help others and thank you for inspiring and empowering me!

Live Life,

K”

Walking Each Other Home

Walking Each Other Home

It is such an honor to have been asked to write an endorsement for Ram Dass’s final book (co-authored with the amazing Mirabai Bush)! Click HERE to pre-order!!!

“In their poetic and captivating dialogue, Ram Dass and Mirabai Bush reflect on what it means to be human: to live and love; to experience joy, heartbreak, and the fear and freedom that laying it all aside brings as we awaken to our true Self. Walking Each Other Home is a deep and genuine transmission of the heart—a gift for us all.” — Chris Grosso, author of Indie Spiritualist, Everything Mind, and Dead Set on Living

DSOL Endorsements/Additional Praise Completed

Dead Set On Living Chris Grosso

“Chris’s books have been a significant source of inspiration in my own healing journey, and his newest work, Dead Set On Living, is no exception. Anyone looking for something real; something raw, ragged and authentic won’t be disappointed. I believe anyone who reads Chris’s honest and unabashed words will truly benefit. This is very, very real shit.”

— Bam Margera, Professional Skateboarder, actor (Jackass/CKY), and musician (Evesdroppers)

“Dead Set on Living offers a deep, intimate look at why we continued disparaging ourselves. This is essential reading for anyone looking to finally break the ruthless cycle.”

— Richard Rohr, OFM, Founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation

“Chris Grosso’s Dead Set on Living is an awesome work, the totally honest account of a man seeking the realities of life and death, compassion and indifference, sorrow and joy—as if they really mattered. He tells his own moving story, holding nothing back, consults with many amazing people who work with depression, addiction, etc., and shares with us his process of integrating their teachings and advice in a vivid and beautiful way. If you and your loved one’s struggle with life in an existential way, you will love this noble book—it will bring you courage and many blessings.”

— Robert A.F. Thurman, author ofMan of Peace: The Illustrated Life Story of the Dalai Lama of Tibet

“Chris Grosso is a Warrior of the Heart. With humility, honesty and courage AS his weapons, he does battle with the shadows in the dark corners of our hearts.”

— Krishna Das, Grammy Nominated Kirtan Musician

“This inspiring compendium of spiritual friends can guide us as we navigate the way through our own hell toward the light of love.”

— Alex Grey & Allyson Grey, Visionary Artists (more…)
